We buy, build, and back businesses in the maker economy.
Makerspaces, tools of the trade, design studios, craft communities, plus the weird little business that gets discovered through three degrees of fiber-festival friendship.
Why we exist
We preserve heritage craft, the tools of the trade, and build the infrastructure that ignites the spark of human creativity.
Private equity found the maker economy a few years back. The playbook hasn’t changed since they ran it on summer camps and dental practices: buy something beloved, squeeze the team, pump out the cash, move on. The brand survives. The soul does not.
CraftSpark is the alternative. We buy and build companies we want to keep, run by people who care about their community. We hold for the long term. We answer the phone. We have a stash that won't quit and more WIPs than we'd like to admit.
What we do
Three prongs. One thesis.
We acquire maker-economy businesses.
If you've built something good and you're thinking about what comes next, for you, your team, or your customers, we'd love to connect. Permanent capital. Long hold. Profits get reinvested into the businesses and the communities they serve.
We build tools and spaces for makers.
Makers spend too much time running their businesses and not enough time making. We're building tools to give that time back, and exploring physical spaces in communities where local craft has thinned out.
We're exploring how to invest in this space.
If you're a founder, operator, or potential partner interested in funding the maker economy without replicating the extractive playbook, get in touch. We're looking for values aligned partners, passionate about the space. We don't have all the answers. We DO know there's a better way.

We’re patient. We only buy what we love.
For founders
Thinking about selling?
Most acquisition conversations start with a number. Ours start with a question: what do you want to be true about your company in five years?
We don’t need you to explain why your COGS spiked the year wool moved, or why your best customer is a 73-year-old in Vermont who orders the same colorway every six weeks and has opinions about your packaging. We’ve met her. She’s right.
Here’s how we work:
We move at human speed.
No crazy timelines or unrealistic expectations.
We don't strip teams.
We're buying the people as much as the brand.
We're transparent about price and structure.
No games. A deal that works for everyone.
We're not the right buyer for everyone.
If we're not the best fit, we'll point you somewhere that is.
Build with us
Building tools and spaces that unlock creativity and connection.
Creative entrepreneurs spend too much of their day on the parts of the business that have nothing to do with making. We’re building tools and support to free up more of your day to do what you love and connect with your community. Tools that solve inventory tracking, listings, pattern admin, customer comms, so the creative work is always at the center. Spaces that help more people create and connect.
If you’re an engineer, designer, or maker-operator who wants to build alongside us, we want to hear from you.

Curious about the space?
We’re exploring ways to fund the maker economy that don’t involve the usual extractive playbook. We’re early on in the process. If you’re a partner or operator who finds this interesting, we’d love to compare notes.
